It's the weekend, get in!!

Oh, you would not believe how happy I am that it's nearly the weekend! This week just seems to have dragged on forever.

I've got a craft fair tomorrow, but I don't have to be there to set up until 11am, so it means that I can have a nice lie-in - unless I wake up ridiculously early panicking that I don't have enough stuff to sell! Anything that I do have left over will be put onto my MISI site, so that will keep me occupied on Sunday!

I've managed to pick up some lovely patterned paper over the last few weeks, so I'm putting it all to good use. I've found that The Works (the cheapy bookshop) has started stocking more crafty stuff, escpecially good for card-making and scrapbooking and it's much cheaper than Hobbycraft - even the local stationers is cheaper than Hobbycraft! I admit that they don't have the same range of products that Hobbycraft have, but I just can't believe how ripped off I feel when I look at the difference in price - plus crafters get a 10% discount on certain lines, whic is a bit of a Brucie bonus!

Maybe I should club all my 10% savings together and use it to pay off the mistake that I made yesterday! I went on Ebay to try and find some paper bags to use when I'm at a craft fair for people to put their purchases in and I found some fairly cheap near enough straight away. I'd had a look before and couldn't find anything so, before I though anymore about it, I clicked on the 'buy it now' button. Thinking no more of it I went through to the Paypal bit, and wondered why they'd charged me over £15 (the bags cost £9.95). Yes that's right, they've charged me £5.95 p&p for a normal 1st class delivery. Is it just me, or is that a complete rip-off?! Obviously I couldn't cancel the order because I'd get bad feedback as a buyer, but I certainly won't buy from them again in the future.

Sorry, rant over! I'll make sure I update this over the weekend and I should get confirmation of my MISI domain status today, so there'll be a new link to look out for!!

My MISI Shop!

Well, I bit the bullet and signed up to MISI!!

Ok, so I haven't actually put anything in there yet, but it's a start. I managed to find some good info for my delivery and return stuff on the Crafts Forum (cheers peeps!) because I haven't really got that much of a business mind.

I've got a craft fair sorted for Saturday, at the Fishmarket in the centre of Northampton so I'm holding off putting too much stuff on my MISI site until I know what I've got left! I've still got loads of Christmas cards left but I don't think they would sell too well at the moment, so I won't put them on for the sake of making the site look full! I'm going to have a crafty evening (after I've made tea!) so I should have some stuff up there by the end of the week. I keep having a look round at other people's prices, because I don't want to make it too expensive but on the other hand I don't want to look as though I'm giving it away. If anyone has any advice and wants to message me, feel free!

So a lot of my cards at the moment have hearts all over them in preparation for February 14th, I like to keep them quite simple so they appeal to a wider variety of people (I've even had positive feedback from my Dad!!).

I got some great thick, pink handmade paper which I've managed to use a lot of but it was just so pretty that I couldn't stop myself - it looks so nice that I could always try and make a dress out of it for a female birthday card

Ok, so you might have guessed that I'm no Bill Gates. I'm struggling a bit adding my photo's - I tried to use the picasa thingy, but it wouldn't add the slideshow to my blog. I've got my images on a memory stick so I'll add them bit by bit. If you have any feedback on them, I'd love to hear what people think.

My First Blog

Ooh, I'm quite excited about my first blog - not that I've got a clue what to write in it!

The last blog I kept was during my training for the Edinburgh Marathon in 2008, but I've a feeling this one is going to be slightly different!

I got into crafting about 5 months ago, when I was looking for a hobby. I've never really been that creative, but thought that I could give it a go and see where it leads. 3 craft fairs down, and a bit of spare cash raised I'm still here. I don't think I'll ever be as good as some other people out there, but I do my own thing - if people like it, great!

I'm going to have a go at putting up some pictures of my cards over the next few days for people to have a look at. I've had a bit of positive feedback from the kind people on the Crafts Forum and my friends and family seem to like them, so I must be doing something right!
